I agree that he might be about to blow me off and this is his way of doing that, but the whole cardinal rules thing is true. I've known him for 5 years (prior to us hooking up) and he's always said that and I've never seen him date or go after anyone's ex. He's actually slept over at me and my ex's place during the weekend quite often, so I know for sure he wasn't hooking up with any of our friends' exes then.
