I said I played the game for a living for a while and still make a consistent income with it. My grandpa was a professional player and both of my uncles pay their bills playing. I bought my first BMW because of poker.
I've been around this game a while I know how it works
About dating, I wouldn't take her to play poker obviously. Smallest game there is is the $200NL game. I was thinking roulette and craps for fun. Poker is not fun
It never interested me enough to learn the ins and outs of the game. But I was always curious how people can claim to win at gambling when the numbers are what they are and there is no way to outsmart the numbers. When I read the Nate Silver story, that's when the light bulb went on.

In poker, you're not playing against the house.
Read about the math behind poker. The entire time I'm playing, it's all math in my head. If you don't know the math, you're going to be a losing player.
Most people don't win, because variance is a *****. That's why drunk people can go in, play like an idiot and still win. The good players might lose sometimes, but over the extended period of time they make money.
I can't believe people have to repeatedly ask questions like this.
The answer to 80% of the questions on CD are either:
Depends on the person
or
Talk to the person
In that vein, my answer to this question is:
It depends on the woman, talk to her to see if she likes casinos.
I'm asking from a general view from the people here. I am not really considering this date at the current moment, but it's always been something I thought would be great.
No different than asking your buddies what they think of something.
Wazza matta you? I mean me. Ok, I'm a geek. In my entire life, I've parted with no more than $50, TOTAL, in a casino environment. Oftentimes, I go directly to the buffet. On a few occasions, I've dropped $5 or $10 into slots, and think "I just jacked up the price of my dinner buffet from $16 to $26." Have fun, guys.
One guy told me that, as he was driving down the Las Vegas Strip, his 8 year old son said "They must build all these big fancy casinos with the money they make off of people." That's not a kid. That's a prodigy.
I just recently went on a casino date and had a really good time. We got a room, ate a nice dinner, drank a lot of booze and played some slots and poker and danced to live music. We even had a delicious 4am breakfast of steak and eggs, so it was a great time all around
I wouldn't recommend taking a girl to the casino on a first date, but if you have dated a little while it could be fun. I know I would like that, it is something different.
