I believe you, but keep in mind that marriage is not an umbrella term/concept. The kind of marriage one person is not the same as the next.

You seem to believe that because mom told you not to be the cause of your dad's heart attack (or whatever it was) and death, you think that meant she loved dad more? So the hell what? You think she should excuse your behavior because you are merely her child? How self-centered can you be? I'd have done whatever it was your mom said if my kid's lousy behavior caused so much stress on my spouse to put him in the hospital. Kid =/= get out of jail card. You're not that special to expect mom to just let slide. Did you ever apologize for that?

I am not convinced "love" is something you can comparatively measure. There is no "more" or "less" there is just "different".

I am simply unaware of a single person who ranks people around them in terms of some scale of love like your question imagines.

There is no "should" here. You are just engaging in fantasy. The bonds each of us form with others are different and there is no "should" about where a husband or children appear in that continuum.

In fact many women will do what is best for their children at all times and if at any point leaving their husband entirely was the right choice to make in that regard then many would do just that.

While some see no reason to love an imaginary friend more than actual people in their lives. Basically I feel that the moment one makes a list like the above and attaches the word "should" to it then they are wrong from the outset.
