Trying this again after a long break. I am seeking to make a genuine connection with someone worthy of a long term relationship. I believe in friends first and being true to yourself. I'm definitely curious as to how OKC computes match %. I may have to Google it. In my profile, I have that I don't have nor want children, and my religion is stated as other. Yet I'm still a 97% match with a father of 3 who puts God above all.
I read through some of the match questions. There are definitely some pretty big differences there! (i.e. sex before marriage, living together before marriage, is marriage even really necessary, and views on homosexuality).

They make it fairly public (the how), it is really all in the "how important" the answer is portion of the answering. Saying something is mandatory is 25x more heavily weighted than just saying it is important, for example. And, as importantly, and this is what I think screws some of the percentages up a little, is if you answered the question but they didn't, it isn't included in the calculation. So if I say kids are a deal breaker, but they have two kids and didn't answer the question, it doesn't factor in the %.

Makes sense. When on full site view on my desktop, which is what I prefer, "mandatory" doesn't appear as an option for me; I only see it on the mobile site.
I have a lot that I've answered "irrelevant" to. I may or may not like something but I don't necessarily care if someone else does. Would I date a Buddhist? Sure, why not? But it really doesn't matter to me if that's not your preference.
I think she irritated me more than the messages she received!
