OP , Another thing to always consider is hormone levels. Have these been checked ?
I'm not sure if he's been checked for hormone issues I just know that the said he had a complete blood work up when he was having tightness in his chest.
Give the guy a break, he's working 12 hours of work that is challenging mentally AND physically (if you don't believe that, you have never done any electrical work!)
"Mister ED" is all about him being tired, and it has NOTHING to do with your own level of attractiveness, so please get over that one, last thing the guy needs to hear when he's having trouble "rising to the occasion".

MR. ED as you call it can happen to young guys too when you drink too much booze, there's a reason why it's called "whiskey dick" and a million other things.
Don't try and do anything about it, don't make a big deal about it, the proverbial, "it's not you, it's me" applies here.
So in other words, don't based your womanhood on whether a drunk dude can get a stiffy, or even sober for that matter, unless you're in a competition with Quasimodo in the looks department it most likely it isn't you.

Chowhound Sorry I read your post and I thought I replied to it and found your words to be knowledgeable and insightful. Thanks but I'm not trying to put men down, I enjoy this man beyond words and I'd never do anything to harm him . But I needed answers.
I'm sorry to say I have some experience with this. Each guy seems to have his own cause. One guy I suspect had trouble due to his overall health plus he was a little kinky and asked for some things I could not deliver. Another guy I think was gay and had suffered a great deal of anxiety while trying to get his wife pregnant. So sex made him very nervous. He actually tried to fake an orgasm. Another guy was taking Paxil for social anxiety disorder and later revealed to me he is an alcoholic.
The common denominator was anxiety...and there is very little I ever felt I could do about that. Men aren't inclined to let a woman in, no matter how caring and patient. I recently went out 5-6 times with a guy I really liked, but when I dropped a couple of hints that sex was definitely an option for me, he dropped me like a hot potato. I suspect he is an alcoholic, so I wasn't sorry to get dropped.
To answer the OPs question, it isn't just about the 4 beers. It is also about the longer term health implications of drinking alcohol. It isn't just what he drank tonight, but what he drank all week, the week before and the week before that......
He needs a complete check up and to FULLY discuss this with an MD. He probably won't want to!
Very true it's hard to get him to see a doctor, he's been single his whole life and lol he's survived this long.... I have however got him to start taking pain medicine (Tylenol, Aleve) when he needs it and massages for his back and legs when I visit, it helps him sleep better.

Yes, alcohol definitely has a deflating effect. Maybe you should ask, why he drinks as much as he does?
Augiedogie honestly I'd say a large amount of guys who work as commercial electrician drink every event I've gone with him for work or friends from his work they all drink. Honestly they put their lives on the line 12 hrs a day 6 days a week. They've had friends die horrible deaths. I think it's self medication a way of unwinding after such a stressful job. Now he doesn't drink every day but he does drink, mostly beer.

Stress is a big one for me too...I need to be in a fairly calm & relaxed state to be able to perform optimally.
Strangely enough being oversexed can cause it too. Just recently I was with my FWB three nights in a row...fairly long sessions too. We've had more free time than usual lately and tried for four nights in a row and it just wasn't happening for me, so we agreed to take a break for a bit to let me recover lol.
