Same, haggle. I sure wish I would’ve been brave enough to do it all along! I was at a point where I had a federal job offer with all the benefits and extra paid days I could imagine, vs a more creative job where I could help grow a company that was really exciting… I told the latter I’d take the position if they could offer the same pay and benefits. And they did. What?! You mean all I had to do was ask?

I think I’ve always felt too lucky to just land a job after the interview process than to risk it by asking for more.

Better late than never I guess.

This morning, I went to read my daily politics letter by Heather Cox Richardson, and she talked about a Republican accusation that Nancy Pelosi is having some kind of secret police spy on everybody. Marjorie Taylor Greene said that Pelosi was sending the "gazpacho" after people.

Man. That sneaky cold soup.

I was out on the patio with my morning coffee laughing my butt off and my husband became concerned, he thought I was crying or something. That only made the moment more hilarious for me.

Gazpacho, ya'll.

I haven't read today's letter yet, but I'm imagining a container of soup outside your door, as a sign that they're watching you...

But they mostly work on cold cases.

Anybody watching “Love Off the Grid”?
Four people accustomed to modern amenities will give it all up for a chance at true love; these couples will live together in total isolation to see if they can make it work in the wild.
It’s on Discovery+. I think the idea’s good, it would be a great test.

Living off the grid…….. is a sure way to test the strength of your relationship. We can go for a couple of months without leaving the property at times.

I lived in the middle of nowhere for 5 months last year. I had internet though, so I still worked from home and had daily communication with other people, but it sure is dark at night without streetlights or traffic or neighbors… I enjoyed watching the eyes of all kinds of wildlife reflecting out there from the images on my security camera. One day I walked to my front door deep in thought to have a bear stand up on its hind legs because I startled it. Time stands still then, not knowing how long you’d lay there mauled if it hadn’t been scared enough by me to run off into the woods.

I really don’t think I could have lasted that long if a man was with me. I’ve grown accustomed to having alone time.

I've seen the ads for that off the grid show. For me, I love the grid. I don't even like camping.

I am for the most part, right there with ya.

I like fire. I really enjoy having a campfire, or bonfire, or fire pit where I can sit with friends or family and have good conversations. But in places I've lived in recent years, there are usually fire restrictions and often you would not even be allowed to have a campfire, for very good reasons. While I don't argue with that necessity of fire bans in the western US...I don't really see any point in camping if I can't have a fire.
