That's what I'm thinking--Maybe I'm getting 'em all mixed up. But I think what we can agree on, is that smooth jazz + luring a woman into your apartment on some pretext, any pretext (etchings?) = a corny mid-century schtick.

I'm gonna get flack for this, but you're 29 and you want to date a 45 yr old? Why?! There's plenty of time to date 45 yr olds when....wait for it...YOU'RE 45!

LOL! Well I am going out with a guy I met a few weeks ago on a trip - we had a good chat and exchanged info since I was going to be in my city for the summer.

I know he is younger, not sure how much. And not sure if he knows how old I am. Should be interesting. Do I disclose I am an undercover old person on date 1?

I was on the fence about meeting up (since I know he is younger), but he was cute and more importantly we had great conversation! We'll see what happens.

My current statistics are that the youngest woman I've dated is 10 years younger, and oldest 7 years older. (The latter was my GF for several years and I'll always remember, sadly, gone to her final reward.) I'm a senior. The -10 is my current flame.

I think that people dating each other should be truthful about their age. However I see no reason to volunteer the information unless asked.

If you look young for your age then I see no problem. I take care of myself and I'm often guessed at being 10 years younger than my real age. I suspect that most men care more about a woman's appearance than her age.

Yes, true. You guys do realize, don't you, the the whole cougar image was made up by Hollywood, for a new spacious TV series concept, back in its day, don't you? Most women of "cougar" age have no interest in guys a generation younger than them.

Meeting up for good conversation doesn't require a justification. Good conversation is hard enough to come by.

It's quite possible I got confused and got the topic wrong. Sometimes these topics resemble one another so much they are easily confused.

And I apologize if my comment offended anyone.

I agree with Ruth that that whole thing is probably a Hollywood construct to hype a TV series. Actually when you think about it the whole concept is kind of offensive and shallow.
