I'm going out on a limb and saying the OP lives in NYC. Northeast states are small, there are counties bigger in Texas than most NE states. So the distance is not inconceivable.

While I, for example, would not be open to *living* in NYC, I would be very open to *visiting* there. And, hey, that's just me, obviously there are a lot of guys open to living there.
