We spend our entire lives in "time" we don't spend much time on the current moments of our lives.

We define ourselves by our pasts and we look forward to the future for salvation, meanwhile we're not "here" at this exact moment.

Think about it for a few days and you'll see what I mean.
Yes, I heard this on some Eckhart Tolle CDs, also! The CDs are almost better than the books, I think...

That's why dogs are lucky. They just live in the present, or so Cesar says.

Anyway, whoever wrote that, it really struck me as profound.
Well, yes - if it was profound, I wrote it.

It's just part of my life-philosophy - seen too many people destroyed by living in the past or future, and in the process messing up their present.

There are thousands of protests against that sort of idea - I think I've personally been presented with 998 of them - but I still believe it can be boiled down to that one construct.

Not fair, cause maybe he is just some average Joe and I'm assigning nefarious traits to the poor guy.
That's the norm with me. I usually like or dislike people at first sight and rarely change my mind.

Tolle isn't saying anything new, many people have said this many times, he just puts things in a way that makes it easier for people to digest.

I'm a big fan of his btw. He has a new website, check it out some time.

And kids, too.

As kids, we used to know how to be in the present. It's re-learnable though

I will.

My father and my brother saw Tolle speak live some place out here about two years ago. I wish I could have been there. I think it was at UCLA or USC or somewhere near there.
