Nah, there is the type of guy who poses with his car or his motorcycle or whatever as if it's a trophy, like he believes that this car says something important about who he is as a person. There's a difference between the intention of that and a shot of him with his dog or his buddies.
Really? So if my hobby is cross-stitching and I pose with my county fair prize winning bit of cross-stitch whatever-the-hell-you-call-it, that's different than if my lifelong passion has been cars and I happen to love them as a hobby and they are my favorite toys?
Personally, when I see people make assumptions about my financial decision making based on what kind of car I drive, I laugh hysterically.
Wasnt that the whole primise of the study. Women make assumptions based on your car, car=financial decision making, expensive car=good decision making, expensive car=attraction.

Yes, but I think everyone on this thread can agree that what you see ain't always what you get. Judge a book by its cover, etc.
It is sad that anyone is making decisions on anyone based on a material possession. Besides underwear, of course. Everyone should have underwear. That fits.
I'm more impressed by men who drive practical cars. When I see a guy in something really flashy or over the top, especially a guy over 40, I'm running the other way. I don't need some mid-life mess.
I think the OP might not be taking everything into consideration. If a guy is driving some piece of junk it is likely to project the probability that he hasn't done very well in life and this image would be worse as he gets older. I drove plenty of junkers when I was a teenager but that's typical for that age. If a guy is in his 40's or 50's and is still driving that same piece of junk it's not going to reflect very well on his abilities. I don't see this as being much different than how appealing a man would be who's older and is living in a beat up trailer house as opposed to a house that's well maintained.
The feeling I'm getting is that this is just another thread that's supposed to expose how gold digging women are only in it for the money and judging by some of the posts I've read from some of the men on this forum I would imagine that this is music to their ears. My question to those men would be why shouldn't a woman be more attracted to a man who has made the most of his abilities and tried to become successful in whatever career he happened to be in?
I don't really care what a guy is driving, as long as its not a bicycle, a pinto, a station wagon, or a minivan.
