Blueberry, I'd like to put in a good word for Plad. He's actually one of my favorite people on the forum and we've exchanged a few PM's. He may be a little more blunt than some but he's got a great sense of humour and I think he makes the forum more interesting. I haven't seen him be rude or insulting, he's just expressing himself. You just have to get to know him a little better.

I agree with Montana about Plad..He is funny, smart and most of us like him very well. Some people never can know a persons good qualities because they can't get past the fact that they happen to not believe in something that you are passionate about. Some Christians I know could learn a lot about getting along with people from Plad.

I'm gonna stick up for plad too and say that I like the guy. Maybe you don't like his responses sometimes because maybe there's something inside you that believes a little part of what he's saying and that just frustrates you because you know you are a Christian.

I absolutely agree with those who are defending Plad. I actually like him...A LOT! He makes me smile, and I think he's very smart and funny. I certainly don't want to see him disappear! I just want him to stop asking for peer reviewed papers--it drives me nuts! Now I suspect everyone will start doing it just to watch me cringe. I guess I'm just going to have to reply with raspberries every time I see the request. I've said what I thought needed to be said. I got it off my chest. I'm willing to move along.

For those of you who want peer reviewed papers:

PAX?

Some of these conversations we get into almost become research projects where you have to dig up all sorts of information to back up your position. I know the feeling. I really like the posts from solidsquid. He comes prepared with his sources all neatly laid out. I'll be the first to admit I've had to do my share of Google searches before I could come back with a response to various questions.

I can't believe I read all the way to the end, and now I can't even remember what the original post was....

Somehow, I got this far and felt that I should put in a good word for Plad! So thumbs up, Plad, from June 7th.

However, I believe those who have gone before me, (like somewhere back around page 6) put it far better than anything I could possibly add at this point:

"I accept you and all athiests here for who you are..I have found that you are just like my nbelieving friends here. Kind, funny, compassionate, and very caring people. If we didn't love you, we would probably ignore you, but we love you, and hope you love us"

--And we love you too, blue!

Take gentle care, all.

What's wrong with requesting VALID sources? As someone who does this for a living, the bogus resources really get on my last nerve... I don't expect everyone to provide scholarly journal articles, but a little credibility & neutrality is always good.

Haven't "seen" Plad for a while...I hope he didn't decide to leave.
