Did you notice that there isn't one link to a reputable geological website? No links to academic papers.....nothing ....just Bible apologetics from people that don't have a single degree in archaeology, geology or any other related science..
From the web site I posted they state:
“The studies, published in the journal, Nature, paint a picture of a population of humans migrating off the African continent, and then shrinking at some point because of unknown adversity.” ABC News

Mitochondrial DNA is most accurate form of tracing ancestral lineage. This is because Mitochondrial DNA is only passed on from mother to child and doesn’t mix with the other parent’s DNA. After mapping mitochondrial DNA, scientists noticed what is called a "bottleneck" in the gene pool. Now of course this study in itself couldn't ID the flood as the reason for the shrinkage in the gene pool, but it adds another factual observational fact, that the flood indeed happened the way the Bible said it did.

...but we do have evidence. The fact that there is no record of any global flood in Egyptian or Chinese records for one.
They appear to have gone about their daily business right through a period when they were supposed to have been 5 miles under water.

But they did record the flood . . . after the fact.

ALTER2EGO -to- SANSPEUR:

How would you know that a worldwide flood isn't possible? There's enough water on the earth, below the earth, and in the ice caps now to cover ever large city in existence.

And who told you the earth is only a few thousand years old? No one knows for sure how old the earth is. Some speculate it's 4 million years old. You say billions. It's all speculation. However, according to Bible chronology, humans have only existed 6,000 years on this planet.

You said concerning my link: "Did you notice that there isn't one link to a reputable geological website? No links to academic papers.....nothing ....just Bible apologetics from people that don't have a single degree in archaeology, geology or any other related science.."

Obviously you were wrong.

Nope, not laughing. Go back through the thread and see proof that Egypt and China record the flood after the fact. I won't do your homework for you.

Between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 could be billions of years. After God created the earth it **became** chaos and vacant (vs.2).

But whether the earth is billions of years old or many thousands does not prove nor disprove a world-wise flood. What proves it are the facts. The facts are on our side.

Not only is the world-wide flood possible, it actually happened.
You do not have facts on your side, but are desperately clinging to old disproven myths that are being perpetuated by creationist sites...(They are lying to you)

Fact, people have populated the Americas for more than 15,000 years.

Fact, Pangaea began to separate about 200 million years ago.

Fact, there is not enough water to make such an event possible.

Fact, (regarding your aircraft story) Heavy objects that dark in color tend to sink in snow.

Fact, a wooden vessel that size would not survive...It would flex, leak and sink.

Fact, even if one accepts evolution 8,000 species could not have evolved into the 8.8 millions we have today in such a short time frame.

It was in over 200 feet of ICE, not snow. It didn't sink.

Obviously it did survive. You and I are here today because it did.

Whatever. It happened. Get over it.
