Isn't this a favorite south of the USA border?
Sirach 25:13-26:27
A Waco born and bred of Mexican background whispered to me "machismo" when we started reading this in my DIOS HABLA HOY back in the 1990's. I've had lots of fun showing this to women. I know how I felt when I first read this. It took away the veil of human social behavior.

Remember Buddha and Confucius had to get away from their females to think straight

Sirach 25 CEB - Things to be praised - My whole being - Bible Gateway

In 2000 when I showed the English version of my Spanish Bible, GOOD NEWS BIBLE, to my Dallas music prof at Richland College, he tried to buy it in Dallas and it didn't exist. I went on Amazon and it was gone. I used to gift this Bible to people. COMMON ENGLISH BIBLE is even better and thank goodness for it as of last year. Thanks to the courageous Protestants that are trying to unite all Christianity.

I'm sure it sounds much prettier and less full of bull hockey in the Spanish language.

. But as for your assumption I would prefer all US kids get educated PROPERLY and not have their heads filled with tales of folklore.

This passage is pretty close to "If she causeth strife, beat thy wife". Old style patriarchal ideas for sure.

I'm curious how this is enlightening or "takes away the veil of human social behavior." Divorce your wife if she "fails" to "make" you happy? That's not even sound psychological advice. It's your job to make you happy. It's possible you would be well advised to divorce a woman who is unkind and contentious, but not for that reason. It's like a lot of advice in the Bible: doing the right thing for the wrong reason (at best).
