Jesus showed that it is the heart that matters if you have a heart that craves and seeks sin, something is really wrong.
Jesus definitely said you could earn your way to hell by NOT taking care of the poor.

Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?' "Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
I heard a story about a student who asked anthropologist Margaret Mead for the earliest sign of civilization in a given culture. He expected the answer to be a clay pot or perhaps a fish hook or grinding stone.

Her answer was "a healed femur [bone]."

Mead explained that no healed femurs are found where the law of the jungle, survival of the fittest, reigns. A healed femur shows that someone cared. Someone had to do that injured person's hunting and gathering until the leg healed.

The evidence of compassion is the first sign of civilization.

In a similar sense, I think that "compassion is the sign of being "a follower of Christ."

Sadly, you have never displayed any passion for compassion.

Instead you are known for unbending rules, that screams "I desire sacrifice over mercy!!!!"

No, he wasn't talking about marriage between a man and woman, His discussion was about how faithless men put away their wives for trivial reasons. In other words, He was stating that heterosexuality practiced then--as now--was an abomination before God.

You really need to do some critical bible study before wading into the deep water of spiritual interpretation. Many of the atheists on these threads are far more morally advanced than you have displayed about yourself in your posts.

Yet another poor, pitiful Christian victim, denied her God-given right to discriminate against people she disapproves of.

It is an extremely baffling nature of human psychology that they can not seem to see it that way. People are perplexing and perverse creatures indeed.

Well, this case could get interesting again. The court has given the clerk a deadline to comply. August 31. The lawyers have asked an appeal court to tay the order, but the appeal court has failed to act on the request.

But we atheists are not as morally advanced as you are, unfortunately.

So glad I moved out of that state. It's people like her and her supporters that made me hate living there.

The cabbies claim transporting those items violates Islamic law. "It is against our faith and the airport is discriminating against Muslim drivers," says a cab driver who would only give his first name, Hashim.

Commission staffers said tougher penalties are needed to ensure reliable cab service at the airport. "Our stance is first come, first served," said airport director Steve Wareham. "The message is if you want to drive a taxicab at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, you will serve all customers." Many cabbies disagreed, saying that the proposal denies them the right to freely practice their religion. "This is discrimination," proclaimed Ahmed Shine, a taxi driver for seven years.

The license of any airport cabdriver who refused service for any reasons other than safety would be suspended for 30 days. It would be revoked for two years for a second violation. Now, drivers who refuse to transport alcohol must go to the back of the taxi line, forcing them to wait as long as three hours for their next fare.

And what happened in the end? The cab drivers were given a choice - to do their job or go find another job.

Muslim cab drivers at Minnesota's biggest airport will face new penalties including a two-year revocation of their taxi permits if they refuse to give rides to travelers carrying liquor or accompanied by dogs, the board overseeing operations ruled Monday.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission, responding to complaints about the liquor issue, voted unanimously to impose the new penalties beginning in May.

And this all happened amid a deafening silence from those who are now wringing their hands over the 'rights' of this poor clerk in Kentucky. They try to present their position as one of principle, but like you suggest all we have to do is plug that principle into a situation that doesn't provide the end-result they want and - poof! - they abandon their so-called principle in an instant.
