The only phenomenon we actually know about that can create something out of nothing is our consciousness using its ability to imagine. It isn't hard for me to imagine that our reality is the product of a Cosmic Consciousness that we would call God. Many serious philosophers and scientists have suggested that our reality is more like a Great Thought than a Great Machine.
Our reality or their reality? How many realities are there?
This is why I think this whole place exists, us included.. since there is only God,
and since God is Love He has no one to Love...so He had to imagine Himself as
'another' to love! Voila!
And like the continuous ebb and flow of the oceans on the beaches...this back and forth love
now can go on forever...and His love can just keep expanding and expanding
and expanding, endlessly returning back and back and back to Him all for His pure joy and pleasure...as He gives His love....more and more ecstasy.....more and more...back and forth.
It's hard being alone, the Only One...I've been there, in the Void...there is Nothing...
I now know why anyone would create 'something' else. Ha!

Existence of anything is projection from a human onto that anything.
This is why in Q'ran it is said that Allah created humans to worship him.
Same idea. Creation is witnessed (worshiped) as creation by human presence. Without human it is null.
There is a song that says : Sometimes, to know you are there, you need an echo.
We are the Creation echo. Don't like creation? Reality. Tao. Totality. Presence. Name it all you want to, you are still speaking of same principle.
I ask this because someone said we don't know why.
But I bet many in this bunch have ideas...

Why wouldn't something exist, what would be there to stop something from existing that would not thus be something itself by having the quality to stop other things from existing?
There would be some things that couldn't exist. Such as self-negating (illogical?) ones.
