There is several Greek words for "appear." Which one are you referring to?
you are claiming a person literally rose from the dead. words don't matter.
4 people claiming jesus wasn't there. so he woke up and flew away is the answer you
went with?
my dad died, a couple of my sisters said he spoke to them. Under that kind of stress I have no doubt they saw him. but did he rise from the dead to see them?
Read the rest of that passage. Paul is talking about a physcal event.
Read the sentence I highlighted. The burial and resurrection was revealed in scripture, that is OT Peshar.
The appearance was experienced, but how? Paul says they experienced Jesus as he did, by revelation. The start of Acts 2 tells us people (perhaps the 500) saw lights, and not a physical Jesus. For that you have to rely on the later gospels.
It's simple. God played dead for 3 days and then flew away full of life. That's not how it's worded within the faith but that is what allegedly happened. Jesus played a game of "surprise y'all, I'm not dead... Told you I was god".

Paul even calls Jesus an angel in Galatians 4:14. Revelations also calls Jesus an angel.
Hebrews says he was a divine being greater than the angels, and who sacrificed once and once only in a heavenly tabernacle not made by human hands.
I had read some of Carriers arguments and found them possible but not convincing. It was not until I read the epistle to the Hebrews that I stopped believing in a historical Jesus.
Interesting, what in Hebrews did you see that caused this?...
What I posted is not an unsubstantiated opinion. WE have 4 accounts give by men who considered bearing false witness a sin against their God. If only one hare reported it, you might have a point, but all 4 reported it. You have no evidence it did not happen as reported. You don't want to believe it, so you don't.
How do you know for sure that it was these four men who wrote them?...And how do you truly know that these four men considered it a sin to lie for Jesus, Paul didn't?...
