I think this poll was intended for the folks who in another poll responded they had retirement incomes above 70k or perhaps it was the 90k threshold. I can only assume there were more responding that way than expected so cat meet curiousity. Thus the interest in flushing out the pension crowd.

Since pensions and pension plans are the only source of retirement income shown, I can't participate in the poll. I do not consider long-term investments to be pensions.

20% from SS (which I recently suspended to increase the benefit 8% /yr)
20% personal investments
60% private retirement (IRA) withdrawals and Roth conversions.
This income derives from assets that represent 1/2 my net worth.
The other half is untouched and is mostly in qualified tax deferred plans, some in cash or collectibles, and the remainder in personal RE.

Most private pensions were targeted as opportunities to be plucked by companys being brought up, broken up, and pensions taken from employees as just another asset on the books. I worked for the public sector and retired. ALL, each and every one my friends who have been working for private sector have not been able to retire because of their pensions being taken away!

This poll assumes a pension of some sort but many of us are not fortunate enough to have a pension. Savings and investments from years of work and financial planning is what we and others have.
