I haven't gotten my January yet but just checked wife's figures. Last yearshe got 547/month~ January was $480 so her increase amounted to $-67/month.

no, the fact is the fact . ss was never intended to be the sole support of anyone . it was an insurance safety net .

the fact some end up having it that way does not change its purpose nor the fact any cost of living increases will never match your own personal cost of living
