Maybe they have a pool, fitness room, nice bar. There might be a good restaurant just around the corner. If he wants to go somewhere, he can or will. It's not your responsibility to entertain him on this trip.

He knows NYC and maybe we should stay down in the Financial District. We like a hotel there.

My opinion: Take your husband, and feel safe and comfortable. The others said they don't mind, take them at their word.

I would make a suggestion that you did not ask for, and that is to start being more open about your vision problem. I have several physical limitations and preferred the do-it-myself-and-shut-up approach, especially as I have lived alone for much of my life. I have to say that being more honest has been helpful, and it has not become the center of my relationships. Think about it.
