I would take your husband and I would tell my friends the extent of your vision loss so they can help you when he is not around.

I also have tons of points. Tons. I never really travel that much. Like once a year, maybe not for 4 or 5.
Maybe they have a pool, fitness room, nice bar. There might be a good restaurant just around the corner. If he wants to go somewhere, he can or will. It's not your responsibility to entertain him on this trip.

Maybe I shouldn't use the word trip.

Smile Yes, he wants to go....

We should be all set.

He knows NYC and maybe we should stay down in the Financial District. We like a hotel there.

Easy to get around for both of us. (Together, that is).

Thanks for all the replies/comments. Just want to blend in and feel like I'm part of the group.

My opinion: Take your husband, and feel safe and comfortable. The others said they don't mind, take them at their word.

I would make a suggestion that you did not ask for, and that is to start being more open about your vision problem. I have several physical limitations and preferred the do-it-myself-and-shut-up approach, especially as I have lived alone for much of my life. I have to say that being more honest has been helpful, and it has not become the center of my relationships. Think about it.
