I don't know any retirement jokes, but I read the comic strip Pickles in my FB feed. We relate to many of the strips.

Reminds me of the comment my daughter made one time about evening "senior parties" and events, over by 8:30PM so the participants could make it home by their 9PM bedtimes.

Kind of seems like that, now that I think about it.

I still can't understand the animus towards retired people who have decided to go back to work.

Here is one my sister told me.

Seems there was an elderly couple discussing their finances, and how to handle their "final affairs". They were very rich and the husband informed the wife that when he died, he wanted to take all of his money with him, every last penny, and he wanted his wife to make sure this happened. As he said, he didn't know what the hereafter would bring, but he was sure he would need a lot of things, and he believed it would take lots of money to buy those things.

Well, years went by, and the husband often reminded his wife of his last wishes, that every last cent of the money was to go with him at his death, and she was to make sure that happened.

More time went by, and finally the guy did die. As the relatives and friends gathered at his wake, one of his relatives came up to the wife, and reminded her of her husband's wish to take all the money with him. The relative commented to the wife, "I bet you didn't give him all the money so he could take it with him, did you?"

To this the wife replied, "why I sure did, I wrote him a check!!".

It is not our bedtimes so much as our desire not to be on the road at night. We go to bed between 10 and 11, usually.

I didn't write anything about "going BACK to work." That was V8 Vega. Perhaps that is the post you intended to quote? In any case, this is a JOKE thread.

That's pretty much us as well. I don't even remember the last time I went to bed at 9, though I must admit nodding off while I watched TV at that time.

"Do you believe in life after death?" the boss asked one of his employees.
"Yes, sir," the clerk replied.
"That's good," the boss said. "After you left early yesterday to go to your grandmother's funeral, she stopped in to see you."
