Adam Richardson, 28, initially told officers that sometime after 1:30 a.m., a group of between three and five people entered his apartment in a gated complex in the 16000 block of La Cantera Parkway, said SAPD Capt. Cris Andersen.

...

Late Wednesday morning, police concluded that Richardson “had taken a sleep aid and had experienced a nightmare and hallucinated all of the events,” according to the report.

I'm not going to say anything bad about that guy...I feel sorry for him. Those sleep aids are serious business. I have heard some crazy stories from people who have taken them. A co worker of mine said she stopped taking Ambien because she would EAT in the middle of the nite. The last straw was when her husband caught her trying to drink dish liquid.

Yeah, I have heard horror stories, many from Ambien users. Horrible side effect.

Talk about a nightmare - try taking it during the day and staying awake! The walls breathe and there are worms on the ceilings.

Oh....well, sleeping is one of those things I'm especially great at. I don't do it for long periods, but when I do decide to, once the head meets the pillow the drool starts a-flowin'. I really have heard some strange stories about Ambien and wouldn't touch it.....my neighbor supposedly had her car broken in to one night and they let it roll to the street........well, supposedly, her daughter thinks she was trippin' on Ambien and did it herself. Weird stuff.

Likewise. I don't like pills. And I'm so pooped out at the end of the day I have no trouble sleeping.

A few weeks ago, I read the article that prompted this news story. I'm kind of amazed that the guy they interviewed decided to stop writing. In the article, he was unashamed of his profession.
