are there any privately owned apts or second chance apts in san antonio? my husband and i are 23 and 24yrs old with 2 kids, 3yrs old and 6months. we are trying to move before this fall school yr starts(which idk when that is down there). My budget is $650monthly and we need to be close to elementary schools and a daycare for my youngest daughter. Im a CNA so being close to nursing homes would also be nice. But my main focus is a second chance apt or private apt.because we really need a second chance for our kids, we paid off our eviction its just still not off our credit reports yet. ANY HELP ANY OF YOU CAN GIVE US IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! THX.

One of my friends had this problem. If you call any apartment locator, you can ask them for assistance on finding an apartment even with an eviction on file. they usually know with communities work with individuals.

i live near the alamo heights area, right next door actually. i rent from a private owner who doesnt bother to check things like that. he looks into your work history and stability, thats about it.

my rent is 575/month and i have a little over 1k sqft. there are a lot of places for rent in the area i live in, its quiet, little crime, peaceful, trees, greenery, some families, some couples... its a nice mix. 78209 zip code.

ill never rent an apartment again, now that ive discovered this gem of a neighborhood.

Great info Dextercat! I'm not the op, but came across this thread and found your info helpful. My husband and I are also looking around for affordable rentals as well. The two of us grew up on the southeast side of San Antonio, but now that we have three young daughters are looking to move to a better area. Would you mind giving me some more info on where you are renting from. Are you renting a home, townhome or apt? I'd really appreciate it thanks!

renting a home that was converted to a quad. i have 2 neighbors currently, both of whom are decent, quiet and keep to themselves. my neighbor under me, sometimes, has a tendency to run her subwoofer a little loud during the day. this doesnt really bother me since i have *3* subwoofers in my home theater setup and turning them all on, on volume setting 3, drowns out her thumps enough.

we have covered parking in the back yard, which is awesome. allows me to work on my car and no one bothers me.

the only problem we are having (which is being remedied this weekend) is the house next to us recently rented out the big unit there and the new tennants have 2 pitbulls that they dont leash. not only that, they dont have a fence in the front yard OR the back yard, yet they allow their mutts to run around, unleashed.

the owner of the house said that they have until this weekend (he doesnt want pets, especially violent dogs on the property) to get rid of them or face eviction. i doubt every land lord on the block is like this, but im really glad this guy is due to the amount of stray cats in my area (there are 3 strays that hang around my backyard and the pitbulls have already chased them down and almost killed one).

DexterCat,
Do you know of any rentals in your area. My husband and I are looking for 1 or 2 bedroom.

It might not be wise to post email and phone on a public form.

Hi my husband and I are 24 and 25 years old with three children aging at 5, 4, and 2. We are new to the state of Texas, recently being moved here to Stockdale Texas as a part of relocation for my husbands job from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We have been here for about 1 month now and are looking for a new place of residence. The home they provided for us is nice but the monthly rent is 1200 a month and the space is very small for a family our size. We made a few mistakes in the past financially and are in need of locating a private owner that is renting a home, apartment, duplex, and/or a town home. If any one has any information that may help us in our search please write me back with the information any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You
