My high school also had a smoking section but it was only for seniors. As usual I was a day late and a dollar short. When I got to be a senior they abolished the smoking area so I had to hide and smoke. I wound up getting caught and recieved a 2 day suspension. The following year, after I graduated, they reinstated it.

I remember the New West nightclub. I was there one night and saw that weird band "Flock of Seagulls" there. Does anybody remember the upside down shot you could get in the barber chair? Don't tell your kids about that one!
There is now a duplicate bridge club and an Ace hardware in that strip mall.
Did any of you guys do the scout trips to the McGuinnes? boy scout camp there on Military? I always wondered what went on in there.

I went to the Scout Camp in about '70. Just typical scouting stuff...archery, basketweaving, hiking trails through the woods, nature studies, arrow head making, and, of course, knots!

I remember the Yo yo guy coming to San Antonio, but I saw him at Gulf Mart on Fred Rd. , which became K mart, and is now Gram Central Station night club. All the yo yo's back then were bright yellow or orange with flower stickers, lol.

I remember the old Pete's Place on the county line on the way to Bandera (San Geronimo). Some of the structure was still standing when I went by there a few years ago. Any history about its demise? Actually, this is a bump from April
