I'll take the bait. To those who like the idea of chain Mexican restaurants in SA, please post the entire list of tex-mex establishments you have visited in town. Then the forum will judge whether or not you have the requisite experience to suggest said chain would be an asset to the dining scene. If your list consists solely of Alamo Cafe and Taco Cabana....

Saw in today's Express-News that Tin Star is opening a new location in the Medical Center at Callaghan and Horizon Hill.

I loved Tin Star for the year or so that it was open at 281 and 1604. It has been gone from there for several years.

SA needs chain Tex-Mex restaurants about as much as it needs heat lamps for cool summer eves.

Default Village Gourmet on Stone Oak

Looks like they may be closed. We stopped by on Tuesday and there was a locked-out sign on the door. Sad, if it's true - we really liked that place.
