Stopped by the new STEAK & SHAKE at Alamo Ranch Wednesday evening...EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!
It was nearly 7pm, no line and no problem finding an available table.
Chocolate Shake - no chocolate taste and extremely "watery". Definitely didn't need the spoon that came with that shake!
Burgers - bun was slimy and soggy with tasteless meat. It was falling apart it was so soggy - just could not finish it! Frisco Melt was overloaded with "sauce".
Fries - soggy and limp. Cheese fries was a plastic container of horrible tasting "cheese" sauce.
We were just about to leave and the manager, Jimmy, asked how was everything? Well, we gave Jimmy very honest feedback just as you read it here. He did admit they are still working out problems with their shakes and told us the crispy fries aren't healthy, so they have gone by the way side. We laughed and said we wouldn't be eating at Steak and Shake if we wanted healthy! He apologized for the burger failure and gave us coupons to return. It will be some time before we could even think about going back, even for "free" items and we told him that too!

Yeah, I can't wait for them to open either! But they have to hire more people and train them.

at the pace they're going, they'll have a staff trained for 5 star dining. Perhaps they can send them over to Viola's.
