Ike appears to be going under a Rapid Intensification cycle tonight.... deep convection surrounding a small eye. In English.. don't expect a cat 1 when you wake up.

Sounds a lot like the northwest anytime the weatherman mentions the word "Windstorm" or "lowland snow." All of a sudden it's the end of the world...

I'm more concerned with the neighbor's crepe myrtle that's as tall as the top of my roof that'll be blowing around than anything else.

I noticed the time was moved to later Saturday evening. As it picks up strength, say to a cat 4, will that bring the time/impact sooner rather than later?

Thank goodness I got those dead limbs out of the oak in my back yard...and some live ones too!
I hit the store tonight for some batteries, candles, etc. Whatever we don't use will end up in the camping supplies anyway. It was really uncrowded tonight - I wasn't waiting until tomorrow!
We canx'd the birthday plans for Saturday - just pushing it a week. Son isn't happy, but I told him he could have a hurricane party at the house this weekend!!

FWIW.. I don't normally like Accuweather, but they also show a possible hurricane over SA.

hahahaha!!! Do you know how many people are evacuating TO San Antonio?!

Of course, during Rita they had to evacuate all the Katrina evacuees out of Houston.

Seriously, I haven't seen any plans for evacuation out of San Antonio. SA is the receiving hub, although many have thought about the prospect of SA being in danger.
