Just returned from my Alamo Hts 50th reunion and one of my friends says he can remember when Broadway ended at Hildebrand and became a dirt road into Alamo Hts. I remember when it became a dirt road at Loop 410, but not Hildebrand. Anyway while looking for maps, I came across this pdf and thought I'd share; lots of cool pictures.

Just south of SAC on the west side of the street. They may have become the first Jeep Dealer here too.

Another sad case to enter into the annals of GBNF in SA.

The Murf's Better Burger on San Pedro has been leveled. I dont know when this happened, I jut happened to be in the area this weekend and saw it.

For those that dont remember...this was a long time Whopper Burger and was also in the movie Johnny B Good.

My father (dec. 2003), worked at Kelly AFB and saw Kennedy and the first lady exit Air Force One on the base. I was a student at UT Austin and I was waiting for the President to arrive in Austin, the last stop on the trip.

The Rambler Center on San Pedro did not sell Jeeps. Jeeps were sold down the street at Gillespie Ford for whatever reason!

I remember the Rambler Center being called Andy Anders Rambler Center, then Al Komray's AMC. I had a Nash Metropolitan, and a Rambler Classic. I bought my parts there.

So sad to hear this. Probably another casualty in the name of progress. At least Burger Boy is still around.

Andy Anders was the name I remembered for the Rambler Center also. Just seems like I remember another make auto tacked up on that AMC sign..along with Rambler. Might be that it was the first time I associated AMC as the Rambler maker. I don't recall Gillespie selling Jeeps (then again) but there's lots I don't remember.
