Malibu Shack for a very reasonable happy hour.

I had lunch yesterday at The Egg and I on I-10. I ordered the "triple deal", cup of soup, garden salad and 1/2 sandwich. It was plenty of food! I brought the sandwich home and had it for dinner. All was delicious, the atmosphere was nice and the price was nice....$8.99. The breakfast menu looks yummy, I want to try that next.

Made our first visit to Blanco BBQ. It was disappointing. The chicken and turkey were mostly dry and generally flavorless. The pulled pork was flavorful, but the po' boy bun it was served on was dry. The slaw was good, but the cream corn seemed not much more interesting or flavorful than the canned version.

Prices were reasonable and the service was good, but the food was unimpressive. I expected more, based on the crowds it draws and after reading about the owners' credentials.

I'll stick with Two Bros. and Rudy's.

Ate at the Mediterranean Turkish Grill on McCullough ( just behind North Star Mall).
Honestly, I was not impressed, but to make my mind I will give it another try.
Yelp and Urbanspoon are full of great reviews. Maybe I didn't order the right dish?
Turkish pizza seems to be very popular there - that's will be the next thing to try.
Also salads and wraps.
I had this:

Ali Nazik - seasoned cubed lamb meat by elnina999
and it was too heavy for me.

Bombay Salsa. It's a taco truck in the CVS parking lot on Chase Hill and 1604, that specializes in Indian and Mexican fusion. Just had their fish tacos, so good I ordered 3 of them, very lite, very spicy. Only offered on the first and third Fridays of the month.

They are there on Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays only.

Chama Gaucha. Never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before. The place was packed! Excellent salad, in fact, I could have eaten that alone and been happy. But, oh, the meats! The picanha was amazing! Service was attentive and efficient. Not something that we can do weekly, but definitely will return for other special occasions.

For lunch Friday went to MK Davis, good stuff as always. Had the fried chicken and it was good and well worth the wait.

Unfortunately I'm not a fan of Los Robertos. I went to the new location. I got the crispy beef tacos. It has a good flavor, but also tasted very weird. I don't know how to describe the weird taste. It also smelled very strongly like peanuts. It tasted a little like peanuts too. I was thinking about trying something chicken, but a family member said her chicken taco salad tasted good, but weird. I may try some of the breakfast tacos.

Also had Los Roberto's, the TPC Parkway location. Big plates! Food was good, a tad heavy on the cheese, though. Service was quick and efficient. Fish tacos were fried, lunch companion liked them anyway (she was anticipating grilled). It was pretty full for a weekday, and I certainly have never seen this many people at this location.
