Most places where one would see a restaurant review - magazine, online, newspaper etc. use a system of conveying the cost of eating there.

The most popular I have seen being "$, $$, $$$, $$$$".

On average, I usually see the "$" as $9 to $11 per person for a meal, drink, tax and tip.

If I remember correctly, one cannot leave Greenz, Fresh Choice or Sweet Tomatoes for $ - typically. Of course, depends on if one is eating at lunch or dinner prices and if one orders a drink.

I don't see Jason's or Souper Salads having business taken away when they are clearly a '$'.

I ate at the restaurant right next to Hills and Dales. The parking lot is always packed for lunch. Now I know why. I don't remember the full name of the place but it is excellent. Time to hit the gym and work some of that awesome mexican food off.

They are VERY good . The name is Aguas Calientes. It is a Taqueria.

Today was... DENNYS! The kind of hit or miss place where I don't expect much, but had a really good meal today! (281/Bitters) They cooked my hash browns just the way I asked (extra crisp) and I had a new sandwich with egg, bacon, sausage and ham, plus some kind of maple syrup flavoring, it was pretty good! I took half home and it had a great flavor cold too. GF liked her burger, plus we had a 2 for 1 coupon, nice cheap meal!

We went to Il Sogno last night. After all the hype about the restaurant, I was worried that we’d be disappointed, but that certainly was not the case. They don’t accept reservations, so my husband and I arrived just after they opened at 5:45. We were seated right away, and the dining room filled up almost immediately. We ordered a bottle of prosecco and chose the “pick five” antipasti. We had octopus salad, beet salad with goat cheese and pistachios (to die for!), pea puree, white bean puree and a mix of cured meats. It came with some crostini and foccacia. It was all delicious and went perfect with our prosecco. We ate leisurely and then ordered a salad and entrees. We split the burrata con pomodorini (fresh mozzerella stuffed with marscapone cheese), and it was heavenly. I mean who can argue with cheese stuffed with cheese? For our entrees, my husband had the gnocchi al castelmagno and I had the special, which was meatballs (veal, pork and eggplant) in a spicy red sauce with parmesan risotto. Both of the entrees were delicious and we paired them with a nice bottle of red wine recommended by the sommelier. I had read about the “famous” Le Reve nutella tart, and thought that we would be having that for dinner. However, the waiter highly recommended the tiramisu, so we went with that. It was delicious and light. Definitely the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. Afterward we walked over to Sam’s Burger Joint for some music. It was a great night, and I definitely recommend the Il Sogno for a fun date night!

We went to Amorcito's 2318 N Loop 1604 W last night and had a very enjoyable dining experienced. There was a short wait to be seated. The light and thin chips were served with three distinctly different sauces. Our waitress was outstanding and the entrees are just a tweak different from your standard Mexican restaurant. We will be returning soon, probably to try their breakfast menu.

At a recommendation I read here, I finally ate at Golden Bowl on Austin Hwy and it was AAAA+++! I got the combination lo mein that was so generous a serving that I couldn't finish it. It had medium sized shrimp, beef, chicken, mushrooms and crispy veggies stirrred in the with lo mein....Yummy! My daughter had the sweet and sour pork dinner that was very tasty with tender pork, not hard or chewy like other places. The wonton soup was the best I've had with thicker wonton noodles and broth good to the last drop. We'll be returning there for sure!

Friday night...Sandbar. First time at the new location. Excellent. Like that it is bigger, busier and larger menu. Had Oysters and then the Skate.

An old standby...Souper Salad. Everything was fresh, although the taco meat was a bit dry. Great soups as usual, and love their gingerbread!
