Jersey Girl got's it right! So it happens everywhere! Wow!

Yeah it upsets me when I see both American's and Immigrants milking the system, but it's worse with FOB immigrants. The Russian and Ukrainian immigrants that don't speak English or care not to and hate America, are the main one's, including Turkish and Iranian's that take the most advantage of the government, more so than most American's from what I see.

All the Blacks and Mexicans are poor in my neighborhood, drive beat to **** cars, while all the others, drive newer luxury cars. And it's like these people have no respect for our culture, nor appreciate what they are GIVEN to them like free SSI and Disability in which these people have never worked a day in their life in this country, yet get all the free this and free that from taxpayers dollars. Now that is wrong and unfair no matter how you look at. Hispanic's and Asian's included. If you are not from this country, or immigrated here illegally or legally, and haven't at least worked for ten or more years in the US as a citizen, you shouldn't get any kind of government subsidy or financial support. Sorry but with Social Security going broke, grants and governments programs being cut, the last thing we need is all our money going to people that don't deserve it since they haven't worked for it. Also how come just about everybody, if not 80% of the resident's in this apartment complex across the street from where I live is full of immigrants from the Middle East or Eastern Europe? hardly no actual American Citizen's, something is very wrong here, it's Section 8 housing, but still, how are these people able to jump up on the waiting list over Americans? Something sounds fishy to me Bribes maybe?

Try going to La Mesa and ask the city clerks office about the Russian community there.

I know I'm sounding harsh, but I see this crap everyday, and it's unbelievable to me how our government allow this to happen. It took my grandmother over 30 something years to become a US citizen because she was born in Mexico, but worked here the majority of her life, yet she was just a resident even though she was married to a Mexican American.

These people apply for citizenship, and come here in like 2 years claiming that their refugees in a war torn country, when it takes others years and years to get here, then suddenly everything is handed to them.

Newnurse, you seem and sound like a hard worker, and I appreciate your sacrifices. I will say one big positive about Russians and Ukrainians, is how much they care about their family, and how long they stick together. They are much more family oriented people than Americans that's for sure. Russian women BTW are extremely gorgeous. I've seen them around, and it's crazy how beautiful a lot of them look.

Please understand where I am coming from, anyways, try hitting up that market like I mentioned. I also believe their is a Russian bakery in a strip mall off the street Lake Murray and El Paso. But it could of closed up shop since I haven't traveled over to that area in a long time.

I do agree that people that come to this country should learn English and understand(not neccesserally accept) the traditions of country they came to. But it is melting pot and a lot of different backgrounds accumulated here so is really hard. About all people take advantage of the system. Its irks me as well as you. I am American Citizen who works and pays into Social Security and Medicare. I am legal taxpayer. I see everyday people for different backgrounds taking advantage of system. And its hurts me that my mom who did work here 10 years and when she got sick she needs to pay for her med when drug addict who did not work day in her life comes to pharmacy and gets her prescriptions for free just because she does not have money. I do not know about all people but people I know many backgrounds and nationalities all hard working and honest. I feel really bad that only people you meeting are scam bags it really does not matter from which country they are. People are people. Some are great some are not.

I do not know much about applying to be citizen I thought you pay fee and take the test will get you citizenship. But maybe I don't know something. When I came you had to live here for 5years and apply. I could not because I did not have 350 dollars to do it. But in 7years I did. May be there is difference in state I live in Mass. May be it different for other states? But I cant understand why? Government is bad but we really cant do anything about it. I hope we came to position where we all respect where we coming from and know where we going. BTW all women beautiful not just Russian. Have you seen Brazilians? In respect of families, we raised to respect our elders(not generation now) I think even my kids are different from us with freedom of speech and so forth but If something happens in family we all together. Our mom got sick and I took her to my house and kids who were in HS that time watch her until I was back from work. But again I think it depends on family and not if you Russian or American. I have seen a lot of great American families who are very together and help each other. Thanks for the bakery and stores. I did Google few of the stores and restaurant in La Mesa as well.

my spouse's coworker is russian; his family lives in poway and UTC; also, here in carmel valley there's a small russian population. and i know la mesa, in east county, has a russian market, as does UTC, near the UTC mall. I don't know the names of the stores or addresses, but you can probably google them. Also, i think clairemont near clairemont square, has a large russian population.

Newnurse there is a Ukrainian catholic church la Mesa and it's actually in the la Mesa village area. It's one of the nicer towns in San Diego. You would really love it here. We used to own a restaurant in this area. The people in the la Mesa village- mount helix area are very relaxed and down to earth compared to other areas in san Diego . I don't usually post I. This forum anymore but I thought I could help. Also sorry to hear about when your mom got sick. My mom is in a coma mosaic we are all praying for her
