For the past two weeks I've been seeing promises of 75 degrees, 74 degrees, etc., and they keep getting pushed back. I'll join you in the believe-it-when-we-see-it club.

Though to repeat what others said today, yes, thank god the humidity finally let up. What a difference a 10-15 percentage point reduction can make.

I actually don't mind the warmer temperatures. GREAT for going to the beach. We went to La Jolla Shores yesterday and it was great. But more crowded than I've ever seen it. Totally packed but the water felt great.

As long as it doesn't get too humid I'm ok since it's a few weeks during the summer. But I have to admit without AC I'd get cranky. nI think too many locals are too spoiled by the really mild temperatures.

Heading to Del Mar today back to the beach...

It's still very humid at the beach right now 71% vs 37% 5 miles inland. The only solution is to go soak in the ocean, and then have homemade lemonade and vodka later.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "spoiled." I'd say enough people don't have A/C so that they don't really get a chance to cool down at all unless they spend more time at work or away from home in a grocery store or cafe. So, even "mild" temps can be uncomfortable. I've lived in the San Fernando Valley (try 112 degrees with a broken A/C at one point) and Texas (routinely 95 and above much of the time, and my car's A/C broke), and while those were bad, they were livable due to having air conditioning at home. If nothing else, I could cool off at night.

Here, a lot of places don't have A/C, so while it's 80 outside, it's easily 95 inside in some places, even with open windows. Have that go on for a while, and you get cranky, to use your term. Add in apartment rules about not having A/C units stick out into hallways, and you get some very hot, tired people. (Portable units are $$$ and can easily weigh 80 lbs -- not everyone can get those).

SD is the only city in which I've ever had to deal with foot cramps from dehydration and heat edema.

That's for sure, if you have an asphalt parking lot in front, and buildings blocking the breeze it can get really bad although people assume because you're near the coast it doesn't get hot enough for A/C. Have had the fans on and windows open day and night and it hasn't fallen below 80 degrees in here for almost two weeks and it isn't a dry heat either.

Yep, same here. And, additionally, one of my giant picture windows also cracked last week & needs to be replaced... geesh. It appears the window was hung improperly 5-yrs ago & the intense heat caused it to crack, from top to bottom... going to be replaced in 1-wk... in the meantime I've taped it but it's crumbling day by day. I wish I had the type of windows which allow for a portable a/c to be positioned where the exhaust can draw the hot air outside... sadly my windows which open are 8' high & that's where the wonky opening is.

I cannot wait for this humid weather to leave... it's rather uncomfortable & unpleasant lately. Two fans are just not enough.

We also live on the beach, and there is a special kind of shame that comes from firing up what may be the only central ac on the coast. We usually make it to bed time...but it's on now and yes, when the ac is not on it often sits at 80 inside. Breeze or no breeze, that's warm inside.
