Just out of curiosity, how old are you? That might help a bit with what to suggest. You mentioned taking Spring Break with your parents which leads me to believe you are very young? You also mentioned Disneyland and the Zoo.

I guess it doesn't make sense to tell you to go to Tijuana if you're only 12. LOL.

I was thinking the same. I was refraining from posting, thinking the OP is younger than we thought. Although, I love going to the zoo and I am well beyond legal drinking age!

Ha, ha. Yeah, I don't know about the OP but I had NO desire to hang around my parents or spend Spring Break with them during college or even high school. So something tells me that the OP probably is very young and some of the advice given is going to be relative to his/her age.

I mentioned spring break because that's the only time I can go because of school/work.

I mentioned the zoo and disneyland because they are main attractions. To give you guys a better background I am 21 years old, deaf, and I have a great relationship with my parents so it's not bad going anywhere with them (Plus wouldn't have to worry about paying for it because it's family vacation). My friends simply cannot afford to just go to a trip across the country. My friends and I aren't drinkers so we don't party or anything like that.

I don't fit in the stereotype of a person to go to Miami during spring break and have sex/party/drink to get away from parents and such.

I just automatically figured no one under 18 to be posting on a message board.
I guess i'm naive
To native San Diegans and military under 21,Tijuana is a rite of passage.I still don't understand how i can serve my country at 18 but can't have a beer
O.P. if you just want to come chill,San Diego is great spot.
Places to see and go in San Diego are:
Zoo,Wild Animal Park,Sea World, Lego Land,Point Loma Light House,La Jolla Coves,Tijuana (for shopping),South mission beach boardwalk,Anza Borrego desert state park,Fashion Valley(shopping)
This is should fill up your whole week

Yeah hitman I used to think that as well until sdurbanite busted some poster for being in high school. Now I never assume. LOL.

Tripper, that's great that you have such a great relationship with your parents at that age. Personally for Spring Break I always enjoyed going to warmer places with warm water but San Diego is gorgeous and will beat Pennsylvania that time of year. Have a great trip.

Given that information, come on by. You'll enjoy it. It'll beat the hell out of Pennsylvania in March, that's for damn sure.

Exactly! Chances are the sun will be shining brightly, and at least warm enough for strolls on the beaches to see the many different forms of sealife.
I would also suggest, if you have no objection to a nice drive up the coast, to catch the ferry in Newport Beach, out to Catalina Island for a day.
I can guarantee you will have no problems in finding activities to keep you and your family busy.

San Diego is awesome but for spring break you're going to want to go to Cancun or Padre Island. Maybe even Rocky Point.

I agree that Cancun might be a good option for you. I know you said your mom doesn't like Mexico but honestly going to Cancun is almost like staying in the USA. Full of American tourists, everyone speaks English and it's very safe. The beaches are really AMAZING. I've been to Cancun dozens of times and the beaches are great there and the water is warm.

Plenty to do as well there and a wide range of accommodations from budget to ultra luxury.
