Maybe his visit will result in China building a legitimate subway system for Seattle! I hope the president is so impressed with our city that he can't help but invest in us!

So he's visiting Seattle only, that's all? If he tries coming to Austin, the whole city would have to shut down just to let him through.

The Chinese are already making plenty of investments here, in fact they recently bought the Columbia Tower building. Any politician visiting is a big pain for the commute, even for us that take the bus. I'll be OK in the morning at 6am, but will just have to plan on being late getting home. I wish it was only one day, like most of these big-shot visits.

Oh, and no, he's not just visiting Seattle, he has meetings on the eastside also, which will shut down either I90 or 520, but no one will know until just before it happens.

I suppose his visit will muck up traffic on the Eastside as well? I have to be in Bellevue on Tuesday/middle of the day. :-(

As an Angeleno Seattle struck me as smaller than I thought it would be, I can only imagine that the Chinese president will think of Seattle as a small town.

I think he's going to be in the Overlake area, to visit Microsoft, but on Wednesday, so hopefully you will be OK.

I heard today from a reliable source that the motorcade will be taking 520 to the eastside Wednesday, not 90, however the Chinese Secret Service has been known to change plans without notice. I also got a notice from Metro about bus re-routing, and they are all downtown to South Lake Union, and Seattle to Redmond via 520.
