My least favorite weekend is coming up. Anyone else dislike how crowded I-5 is (more than usual, how all the restaurants are full, and that it is impossible to get cheap hotels when they come to town? Don't get me wrong, I love Canada, but I hate the week when all the Toronto fans come to get drunk in Seattle / Sound. It drives me nuts.

you mean the Naked Bike/Solstice Weekend?
with the Seattle Marathon?
and the 4-6 Cruise Ships in/out on Sat & Sun, extra 9000-12,000 people?
Cheap hotels?

I assume the Blue Jays are in town. I love it. But I live and work Downtown and I like big cities acting like big cities.

People came all the way from TOronto to see our city.. Greet them with open arms.. Sheesh Now, for those British Columbians, different story Gosh dang it.. Cannot you Costco raiders just stay in Whatcom county and not horde our shopping malls in Seattle. We already got enough traffic and Vancouver has some nice malls too..

I have no problem with it. Adding a few minutes to my commute is a small price to pay for the big boost in the local economy. Actually, the entire summer is full of tourists from other states and countries, and many local businesses depend on that for their survival. Seeing all of the Toronto fans at the Mariner games seems annoying to the local fans, but it's not like the stadium is full and no one can get seats because of them.
Only about 18,000 last night, for example, less than half full.

"Dreading" and "Canadians" seem incongruous when used in the same sentence. I say it's aboot time they came back, though the strong US dollar is making it a little tough on them.

What is the latest exchange rate - Canadian to American? For the longest time the American dollar was worth $1.25 to $1.00 Canadian.

1.34, was up to 1.37. It's a little brutal on them right now, I've heard Canadian revenue is noticeably down (not joking) at Tulalip Casino and the outlet malls there and in Burlington.

Exactly what I was going to say. How can anyone dread Canadians?

True, there's always events going on in Seattle. I just don't like how the hotels by the airport get super expensive (we were flying out 2 years ago during that series and everything was too expensive). I don't like how they come to drink and boo the hometown team.
