World class? Who cares. I live here and I absolutely love it. Its dense, walkable, has great restaurants, nightlife, jazz, one of the best downtowns in America, has great parks and recreation and is so beautiful to look at. All are welcome. Come on up and check us out. I came here from D.C. and will never go back.

I'll give Seattle a resounding "Yeah, it's ok."

It is pretty when it isn't raining.

Seattle I would put on the same pedastal as Miami and Atlanta, and just below Dallas and Houston. I'd say in the grand scheme of things it cracks the top 10 of important American cities. Just because it is tucked in the upper left corner doesn't mean it's not "important". I'm sorry but cities in the south tend to have an inflated sense of worth. Out of NYC, LA, Chicago, Philly, Washington, Miami, SF, Boston, Detroit, Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Atlanta, someone has to make room for Seattle to break into the top 10.

Of course you are right, nothing of any importance has ever come from Seattle...
