While Seattles skyline is impressive for an overall metro of 2.3 million, it takes more than a nice skyline to be considered world class city. What does it offer in terms of education, employment, media, for other parts of the world. It is a respected city in America, however, other countries dont know that much about it. It is not that multi cultured as well. There are not enough races in Seattle.

What is the opposite of a white bread city? A chocolate city (copyright Ray Nagin)? Are chocolate cities bland?

I personaly do find Seattle a bit too bland for my taste, but I can't see what skin color has to do with this. Rome is an overwhelmingly white city and it's anything but bland.

You realize that the Seattle-Tacoma MSA is 4 million, right?

How come Seattle isn't a world class city? How come San Francisco isn't a world class city? How come Dallas isn't a world class city? How come Atlanta isn't a world class city? How come Minneapolis isn't a world class city? How come Boston isn't a world class city? How come Miami isn't a world class city? How come Denver isn't a world class city? How come New Orleans isn't a world class city? How come Cincinatti isn't a world class city?

Its all the same reasons.
