I remember when I had my first In N Out burger and fries, in Vegas, right by UNLV by univ. blvd, 8 years ago. At that time, I didn't know about the big story of this chain and its flash/fame. I just really liked the taste of the food.

To tie this all into Seattle, the founders of In-n-out, Harry and Esther Snyder, met and married in Seattle before they moved to CA to start In-N-Out. She was working at a restaurant in Magnolia, and he worked for a bakery that delivered baked goods to that restaurant.

In Loving Memory of Esther Snyder
Esther also graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1947 with a degree in zoology

A quick update, I went to San Diego and made sure that I stopped in an In-n-Out Burger store. The fries tasted good in an In-n-Out way (dry fries, less greasy but fresh/good) but the burger was not as juicy/delicious as I remembered. Maybe I changed over the years?

I just had IN n Out for lunch about 30 minutes ago - my burger was good and juicy - but those fries are dry, cold and nasty - I have never had a good frie from In N Out.

Oh and Dick's Drive in is nasty and BOOOOOORING. Burgermaster was good, Red Mill was BEST.

Dick's is NOT nasty! Sorry, but I like their food, and for the price, it is unbeatable. Just another opinion based on many visits. Not to challenge, citygirl72, but how many visits?

I ate at Dick's for the first time a couple weeks ago. I imagine that the burgers taste like what McDonald's tasted like back in the 60s. I didn't think they were that great, but they were definitely better than fast food, especially for the price.

Meh, I personally find In-N-Out to be overrated. It beats Mcdonald's, but I don't find the food to be as good as everyone says. I really don't regret them not being up here, Burgermaster and Red Mill beat In-N-Out any day.

Where did you have IN n Out?

IN n Out is very delicious. More so if top your burger and fries with "animal sauce"
