Actually, having worked retail for a long time, I can tell you from the reps that come into the store to my experiences with purchasing managers, customers showing me their comparisons on their smartphones/printed off reports from cnet, amazon, etc (before the smartphone was commonplace) and looking stuff up online myself over the years, that there is indeed a percentage of stuff that is made cheaper using weaker components and stripped down models that go into the Black Friday sales.

Overgeneralize? A bit, maybe. But what I say is out there more than most would think.

It's out there. Most notably on electronics and appliances. But you're most certainly overgeneralizing.

When i was in the army we got off early t-giving eve & had t-giving & the day after off. During the xmas season we worked 1/2 days the week before xmas & got off at noon on xmas eve & xmas day & 26th off. The same went for new yrs (off at noon on the 31st & the first & 2nd off). Some people had great jobs in the military but i didnt.

I agree! Hallmark starts to put out Xmas stuff in July (and QVC begins to sell Xmas stuff in July as well).

Just as soon as one holiday is winding down, the stores put out displays for the next holiday...it is beyond ludicrous.

And as others wrote, I too feel for employees being required to work on Gray Thursday.

T-giving day is now also black thursday. The crazy consumers asked for it & have now ruined many peoples traditional thanksgiving day. May you all go into debt.
