I like my Charter Club Damask sheets. I have two sets in pink (one solid in Cherry Blossom pink, one striped in Cotton Candy pink). I never got too hot with them.
If someone gets easily hot and sweat a lot, I would recommend sheets made of lyocell (tencel). They are fantastic. Cool in Summer, warm in winter, natural fabric (made of eucalyptus pulp), breathable, non-toxic, very soft, moisture-wicking. Also great for PJ, underwear, shirts, dresses and active wear.
A bit more expensive than cotton, but really worth it. Get 100% lyocell or paired (at least 50/50) with other natural fabric like cotton or wool. https://www.sustainablejungle.com/su...at-is-lyocell/
Pricey, yes, but the best sheets you will ever get. And they will last a lot longer then ordinary sheets (I am going on 12 yrs here), so while that doesn't make up the entire extra cost, it does make the sheets less expensive then they appear.
I would love to buy some new sheets. The thing I like best about my current sheet set is that that the fitted bottom sheet stays in place and fits mattresses up to 18". (Threshold at Target) but they are getting thin. I'd prefer sheets that are like "the good old days," but that are not actually old and used by someone else.
The Company Store had the sheets I was looking for but after 5 months of continued delays I cancelled my order. They were cotton percale and I was getting two fitted twin XL and a king flat for our split king. Perhaps they have resolved their shipping issues.
I second the 2Golden's recommendations. The Martha Stewart sheets (I use flannel summer and winter) have held up really well. Her bath and hand towels, too. The sales are priced really well during sale periods like the 4th, Christmas time, Labor Day etc.
Marshall's, TJMaxx and Homegood's too for sheets....
LLBean's are pretty pricey now but wonderful quality from Portugal....at least they used to be from there...
Went shopping in person yesterday and online today, and I am so frustrated.
All I am looking for is basic good quality old-fashioned cotton sheets that will last for at least a year and have at least enough weight that they are not see-through! I also want a "cool" feel as opposed to a warm feel.
Btw, I was absolutely shocked at the prices! It seems that an average king-size set now sells for between $150 and $200!! The last time I bought sheets that lasted for at least five years was at Kohl's, and I think I paid about $90 for them.
We have the Hotel brand from Walmart and love them. Deep pockets, soft and have lasted several years now.

Walmart has Hotel Egyptian cotton - Queen for $38.40. Can anyone comment on Egyptian sheets? I saw in a movie, a young lady was raving crazy over Egyptian sheets. I wouldn't think about opening a package in the store to feel the fabric
I think much depends on whether people sleep hot or cold - I'm a hot sleeper myself and have had the hardest time finding sheets I like since "the old days" when I had a full-size bed and got sheets from Domestications (gone - damask, etc. are too hot and no way would I get flannel.
