Sam's Club...I'm about due, for a trip!
I should try that. Or buy a mandoline, so I know my chips will be thin.

I doubt I could find one in a thrift shop... I've seen them in big box stores... $30-40.

how fancy does it need to be? I could show you what I use. I've bought 3 of these, in the last couple years, for $1.99 each.

So does the metal gadget, I got in a $1 box @ an auction! It looks kind of like this:

We have an electric meat slicer. Never thought about making chips with it. If I could just learn how to soak in something to make them jalapeno chips...sounds like a research project coming up.

lol, Debey I need nothing fancy. Where did you get one for $1.99? I'm trying to think of thrift shops here... but the Salvation Army and Savers are the only ones I can think of.

At a Salvation Army.
Sioux Falls has several Goodwill Stores. I can drive to them, LOL. One is South westish of Billions, on 41st,behind the tire store, kind of in the alley? You see it best if you are heading East on 41st, and driving slow.
Theres anoher Goodwill, south of the Zoo, on the East side of street. By a Dairy Queen, maybe? and I think there is a fairly new/nice one, out on the East side of town. Google thrift shops in SF!
There is also a Catholic one, on Cliff? In the neighborhood of the pink church? North of Avera. West side of street. Sound easier to buy one from the store?

I'm familiar with all the places you listed, except for the one on Cliff near a pink church. I just don't visit them often... I should... I could get some good deals.
