Ya, I can def see what your saying MC, I just equivicate it to an older NBA player still getting voted into the AS game, or the same scenario in the MLB. Doesn't make it right, just gives it a point of reference. And who knows, all those years Tiger had monster years he stunk it up in the RC, so maybe this year when he has played awful, he will tear it up.
I don't care if he is number for 345 years in a row if he is bad in year 346 he doesn't on the Ryder cup team. He doesn't play well in the Ryder cup, I believe we could have selected a better golfer for that course and that plays better at recent Ryder cups.
Funny how Phil Mickelson gets a free pass on his dismal Ryder Cup record. Meanwhile, Woods record is not nearly as bad as some would have you believe and is in fact better than Mickelson's and much better than Mickelson's over the past 4 Ryder Cups. Maybe Mickelson is the one who doesn't belong.
All time Ryder Cup Records (wins-loss-draw)
Woods......10-13-2 (44% points earned)
Mickelson...10-14-6 (43% points earned)
RC Record Since 2002...
Woods......7-7-1 (50% points earned)
Mickelson...4-11-4 (32% points earned)
One could make the case that Woods has often been saddled with underachieving partners, remember the debacle when he and Phil were teamed up?
In RC singles matches...
Woods 3-1-1
Mickelson 3-4-0
And it can't be denied that Woods has been the most dominate golfer in a match play format since perhaps Bobby Jones.
Woods amatuer match-play record...43-4
Woods professional record 37-9-1
Woods play-off record in stroke play 11-1
Thus his total heads up record is an astounding 91-13-1
If there was one player we needed to win the last singles match to win the Ryder Cup, there should only be one name that comes to mind.
really don't need a forum just for golf - this thread would work. There's not enough dialogue on golf anyway, imo.
This is garbage
