I never turn the heat on in my house. Fortunately, our little house, even with the super cold last winter, never dropped below 60 degrees. Yes, it did feel a little chilly at times, but we prefer to use the small ceramic space heaters that take the chill of a room. This keeps our electric bill WAY down, and besides, I just really hate the feel of a heated room.

That said, the cold in Florida DOES feel colder than some other parts of the country. When we would visit the NC mountains in winter, I would always say it did not feel as cold as they said the temps were. Cold in Florida is "bone-chilling" and I am guessing it is because we are surrounded by water.

Can I trade you homes for the next 2 months please?

Your home never drops below 60.

Mine never stays above 70 when it hits the teens.

Sounds like a great trade.

Free thermal clothing comes with the house.

16 degrees this morning at 6 am here.

My house got down to 64 this morning with no heat. I turned on the heat, got it up to 67 and turned it off.... only took a few minutes since it was 40 or so outside. I'm at 69 now because it has warmed up outside. The temp outside during the day warms up the house and it seems to do a relatively good job in trapping the heat throughout the night.

No thanks on the trade... you're not in Florida.

I guess since I haven't been to the beach in years and go to theme parks maybe once a year that would mean I do absolutely nothing the rest of the year.

Save your ignorance for elsewhere.

That's usually what happens. That beach scene thing usually fizzels out rather quickly and it cost's a small fortune to take the family to any decent theme park.

Agree. There are many more things to do. If you're not aware of them, you must walk around with your eyes closed.

Are you kidding? I can't believe people think this way. There are festivals and things of various sorts to do for free or next to nothing ALL the time here. It's certainly not just a place to either hang out at the beach or go to a theme park.

Most people i know that have lived here for a while spend very little time at the beaches. We go couple times a year maybe, but nothing like when we first got here. Much easier to use the pool. Now would be a good time for the beach. It shouldn't be to crowded. There is a awful lot of festivals, flea markets ect. to keep you busy, but a lot of that stuff gets a little repetative after a while.
