At least summer here is not quite as bad as the Orlando area. Whew! It's like trying to breathe underwater there.

Yes, I don't think people realize how important trees can be. We have a nice live oak on the west side of the house. It makes all the difference during the summer for sure. Keeps our cooling bills down. This business of cutting trees down en masse to to make way for a subdivision is obscene, IMO. And don't get me started on HOAs that object to trees.

Wouldn't this be considered a reverse west windflow? Or is it just wind blowing from the west? lol

It's when the axis of high pressure is south of the Tampa area bringing us a west or southweat wind all day. Meaning showers build up around 8 to 20 miles inland around 10 to 12am and move toward the east coast. So that means nothing but soild sunshine and no rain for where i live.

The last few days we had a southeast windflow meaning showers moved all the way to the west coast, this was our classic summertime pattern in the 50's thru the 70's that we saw 70% of the time. Now it's more of a west wind 7 out of 10 times the last 28 years during the summer.

I hate clear cutting. Our HOA requires plantings and has dense trees and plantings in the common areas. That is a big thing that attracted us to this neighborhood.

LOL! Yes, it simply is the wind blowing from the west.

When the wind is from the west, we normally get morning showers near the coast.

When the wind is from the east, we normally get afternoon showers near the coast. The eastern and western seabreezes clash around I75, thunderstorms blow up and then move west to the coast. The summer consists "mostly" of this pattern, per the highly educated and experienced local meteorologists.....who have proven to be right.

The wind is from the west most of the time.

Well the weather this morning is definitely tolerable and last night was perfect with the nice cool breeze off the bay. Its the 3rd day in a row not having any rain after having 5 straight days of downpours. I love the weather patterns here, not so boring like up north.

I was at the store the other day and the thunder started. The butcher said, "Man! That's 5 days in a row this is terrible. I've never seen anything like this."

I responded with, "Were you here last summer, it rained almost every single day all summer."

He said that he was here but didn't remember last summer being so wet. I laughed.
