I see lots of people walking and running during the day all summer long where we live. I think you hit the nail on the head with two things. Hydration and sun. While I don't know how much they hydrate, we all know how important it is during the summer. Sun is something I do notice. We live in a very mature neighborhood with canopy tree sidewalks. They have lots and lots of shade and only have bits of sun here and there.

So I think you would do best to try to find a place to run which is predominantly in the shade. I only assume you hit a lot of sun because you mentioned maybe running before the sun comes up.

Shade is hard to find on my route, but I do have one route that gives me a few mins of shade - and it definitely is a short term relief. Good point.

This is the article that I read today - Tips for Running in Humidity | Runner's World

Do you have a park anywhere nearby? I find a lot of them have good shaded areas.

Yes, we got a good soaking shower here, and some rumbling thunder. Nice cooling breeze from the downdraft, must be cold air aloft. I guess these are the famous "pop-up" showers. So glad we have them.

Never mind, I spoke too soon. We are having thunder, lightning, and washout type downpours. All streaming up from the south of us. Like in a line east of 75.

We got teased as the storm up there and the one to the east of us went by us and the combined over my father in laws house in clearwater and gave them one heck of a soaking.

More to come this weekend.

Good job, Chas. I love red snapper, but it's so expensive. Looks like you got a pretty good haul, though.

It's not like it was years ago when i could catch and keep 30 to 50 mangrove snapper on a 36 hour overnite trip, or 20 jacks and all the goruper i could catch. Now we have strick limits, one jack per person, 2 red snaps and only 2 gag per person per day. You should see some of my old fishing trips pics.
