I can't wait for 2001 Mckinney (Cesar Pelli) and Richards Group (Perkins+Will) to begin construction. They're going to be some of Dallas' best towers.

I don't like the second one. It's a spruced up glass box which is all too common these days. I hate them with a passion. The first one looks great though and I hope the actual building has the shrubbery hanging over.

The reason why MetroRail is more successful in terms of transit is because it actually moves a lot of people per mile (it's called efficiency). Not much of a toy train..... Having a lot of light rail doesn't do much good unless it's moving a lot of people.

Passengers / miles = passengers per mile

Houston's light rail has very few miles... it's a single line, and doesn't run to the suburbs. Common sense tells you that's why it has more people per mile. Doesn't make it a good system-- BTW I'd like to point out that a commuter rail line is necessarily going to have a low passenger/mile number, but that doesn't mean it's not efficient.

Come on. The idea that Houston is better because it has a little rail line is just disgraceful.

I really like how sharp the whole building is. The atrium is another feature that is really neat and will help set this building apart from the rest.

Not in mine. As long as their is a good bus system and buses come frequently (like LA), it works fine.

But would you ride a bus to where you was going if a train took you there also???...Most people wouldn't.

The park&ride system that spans over our major highways feeds commuter buses into light rail, it actually represents a third of the ridership for rail.

DART and METRO are both equally ineffective overall. They just have different issues.
