So that would mean about 300,000 extra people. Around what I was thinking. How far apart are Killeen and Georgetown?

True but with the only river being the Lampasas Killeen not drawing any industry, once the Old time waco politics die off more companies will come to Waco because of the Brazos and Bosque Rivers and closeness to Dallas and Austin.

Killeen just needs to start attracting more industry and they are doing that as much as possible.

Killeen is actually drawing industry. It was the city counsel in teh past few years that denied them. A couple that went to Temple in the past few years actually wanted to base their operations in Killeen but were denied. Now that they are gone, they are trying to attract other industries.

Why would the city council deny more business to the city?

Are you referring to Killeen or Waco? Sounds like the old leadership in Waco, with Baylor breathing down their backs.

Nope. Killeen. But I've heard similar stories from Waco residents as well.

Well luckily we have a Pro-Growth council now and Baylor seems to be "minding" their own business somewhat (they could still improve that), so good things may be coming here. I moved away in 1990 and moved back here in January, and let me tell you, this city has come a long way towards improving itself. Now if we can just improve the Waco schools to where the students can add 1 + 1 = 2.
