American Idol lost me last year with the whole ridiculousness of Pia being voted off and the country boy who ended up winning. How lame. Pia should have won that year.
I'll take a look see and provide my comments after viewing this years crop of hopefuls. They really need to create a separate Country Idol and put it on the Nashville Network. Country music is just gawdawful.
I'm on the West Coast and don't check the forum until after I've seen the performances. The spoiler alert is not an issue for me. What do you think of the judges making the final decision tonight instead of the audience? I don't watch The Voice, but one of the blogs I read said they're taking a cue from The Voice.
I hope Elise is safe. It doesn't seem fair to switch her chosen song at the last minute.

Pia was not the best singer ever on the competition. I really don't understand why people were so sad or angry to see her go since she was always so predictable and boring. Even the judges told her. And many people deserved to win last year.
By the way, I thought Pia had had a record deal. Has anyone heard about her???
As for country music, it's really popular, and it's good music, with lots of talented people. Scotty was not my favorite but he can sing, and now has a great career. Good for him.
It would be ridiculous to have a separate contest - or in that case, we should have a rock idol, pop idol, r'n'b idol, jazz idol etc etc etc

Did you watch the Jimmy session? If so, you would know if she stuck to the original song it would have been that much worse. The first couple notes in the session with it sounded like nails on a chalkboard. Just saying...

She does or at least did with Interscope. Her debut song was crap and didn't sell well. No debut album in sight. Though, what was expected... she was boring and rightfully so exited AI when she did.

I think it's a good idea. It *sort of* neutralizes/dilutes the effects of the whole Vote For the Worst movement.
Shannon Magrane! That's her name LOL> Hey-that rhymes! She will be in the top 10 I think! I felt so bad for Travis Orlando too! OMG!
I never heard much about Scotty after he won Idol this past summer! Fizzled!
Haha! I guess you haven't heard much because you don't listen to country? That Scotty comment was hilarious! He is here finishing his last year of HS and playing varsity baseball. He will be touring soon and has had success since AI and does gigs and manages school work - we all think he's a pretty special young man and represents our area very well. Oh, and his single, "Clear as Day" went platinum.
Not surprised by who's in the bottom 3 (guys and gals) so far.
I'm getting SO tired of JLO using the show to advertise her releases and products. Yes, she's attractive and she knows how to wear clothes -- but I dont think she can sing that well and her dancing isnt what it used to be (or was it ever?).
