This recent episode actually got my wife talking and we interpreted it a bit differently.

I thought that Randall wanted Kevin to see him as his brother, but also remember that he is Black and there are/were challenges related to his race.

My wife thought that Randall wanted Kevin to see him as his Black brother, which is different because Randall wants his race in the forethought of all their interactions and discussions.

How did you interpret it?
The way you do, but it was more about the past. He wanted Kevin to see the role he played personally in making Randal feel different and set apart and not understood.

Kevin even said in the present tense that Randal should be grateful when Randal was trying to explain that the day he was adopted was the day he lost his bio parents and how painful and hard that is.

This is largely what I got from it. They had different perspectives. Kevin's perspective is that Randall being adopted was a great thing. What Randall wanted him to understand is how much he lost. It wasn't all positive.

Anyone watched this week? It was so much more uplifting than it has been. The Pearson’s showed their best selves…maybe with the exception of Tiby, who is only a Pearson by marriage.

Hmm... I for one think Toby grew a lot in this episode. He did good.

Oh, I do. It's a grown-up chemistry they have. I like them.

But he pretended to Kate that he had fixed the plumbing issue..I don’t remember him telling her that his dad really fixed it.

Whatever. I was referring to him being nicer by the time Kate got home from work and also listening to what his dad had to say to him.

I have to admit I am liking Kevin more lately...and never did before.
And for once I thought Randall was a real jerk. That's not to say he didn't have his points, and I do believe he legitimately feels he was the odd one out...but for once he wasn't a bit empathetic since -- for a change -- Kevin was making an effort.

But, I would bet that Kevin will not marry Madison . I think he wants to be
with Beth's cousin Zoe . And, I don't think Madison deserves this .
