How clever of you to discover the Pentagon's plan for the invasion of England. The first step is to send thousands of elderly Idahoan couples to set your teeth on edge and cause mass suicide, then we . . .
Seriously, that was funny, I don't care who you are! And if anyone doesn't think it's funny, you can just get the h--- out!

Thanks, and yes, I do get the point! Whaddah guy!

It's funny, because when I read British people bashing Americans with negative stereotypes, it almost sounds like they are describing themselves.
I suppose British people do not realize that they often come off as loud, arrogant, rude, and uneducated about the world (especially the USA & its history...they seem think we all have a British heritage here - hah!). Plus they have those awful teeth
I also think it is funny when British people get mad about American accents. How dare we speak English with such a different accent from them!

No offence, but number 1) most of American history has reference to Britain, Number 2) there is no such thing as American English on windows, why try and change a language?????? If you cant pronounce the English DONT USE IT!!!!!!!

Slightly off the point, but it does explain some of the stereotyping.

During WWII, tons of Yankees were shipped to England.

This is what I heard,

Brits thought all Americans are over-paid, over-sexed and over there

Yankees thought all Brits are under-paid, under-sexed and under Eisenhower

No, most Americans in the US do not have a British history. We're talking people here, not the government. Big chunks of the US were colonized by the Spanish and even the French. The majority of white Americans claim a German heritage, not British.
The British idea that Americans are mostly of British origin is annoying (the term "Yank" seems to imply this...being of Spanish origin and from the south west, this is term that makes no sense to me). British people seem to think all Americans are in the north east or the south too. The stereotypes are either redneck southerners or WASPy east coast types.

I read that Mid-west Americans actually pronounce English words most phonetically, so it could be argued they speak it more accurately.

I actually have a great affection for most of the British people I know, I and like a lot of British music & admire other British things. But for all their good sides, I find it amusing when these often obnoxious people criticize others for being the same way. It's kind of the pot calling the kettle black. Take a look in the mirror

How dare you insinuate that undersexed British women took advantage of oversexed Yanks (and visa-versa) thus creating all those babies. Exactly what are you implying? Are you trying to make sense? Or worse, are you trying to somehow more closely associate the two nations in a base and immoral manner? For shame . . .
