I saw that film the Departed ...not bad but not great.

I have to ask...police are shot and murdered and yet the IRA in many cases are seen by many Irish people as the untouchables. Why ? Because of the words of Pearse ?
The murder of inspector gerry mc cabe and the rank and file officer ( can't remember his name) was met with revulsion, pearse was one of the key figures of 1916, bit of an oddball really, as for the guy who tore into Adams, I think that's a guy called stack, his father was murdered by the IRA, his father was a prison officer in portlaoise prison which is where republican prisoners were usually held

I thought the departed was hugely over rated myself, not as bad as gangs of new York, another Martin scorceses movie about Irish American hoodlums, mind you half the hoodlums in that were Scots Irish

Yer probably right, I will not say our people were all angels unlike some

Yes, have read a few things about Pearse and some of them were not good. Casement was another one.

I think the fella that tore into Adams was an MP ( or whatever they are called in Ireland ) an elected member of the Dial. But whatever, he was like a breath of fresh air amid all the usual wheeling and dealing, white washing etc that happens in politics.

SAORADH..Here we go again... and so it goes on

They're recruiting all the young naive kids what is their long term plan? since they do support and encourage violence as it says on their mural, are we to assume more violence is on the way for Northern Ireland? This group should be disbanded asap and lock up all the ring leaders before more blood is shed. Everyone wants to move on, the war is over, so will the Catholic community kick these people out of their community ?

Well irish_bob you come from a wee world over there and managed to survive due to EU gits oh and of course our loan to you! Even my part of GB has more folk than you poor man.

Think over in Ulster it is a head-shaking groan that Republican gangsters just keep re-organising themselves with a different name and keep working on bombs stuff, etc. As intelligent as a bunch of goats. The SF/IRA lot are a dangerous sneaky lot and they have caused political problems in the Province by their attitude.

Ah Ok , I'm not sure who that was who took Adams to task in the dail

Guy I referred to is not a politician, he cornered Martin McGuinness on camera too a number of years back over the death - murder of his dad

Now that was just fantastic. A brave Irishman willing to speak out, and tell Adams to his face, what a murdering b*****d he is. Well done sir.
